Casio: 50 Years of Innovation Brief - Visual Development

During my research into several technological innovations, I found out that Casio were responsible for the world's first fully electronic calculator. I figured that a brief could be formed around this, weaving my interpretation (ie. technical illustration, information design). I decided that I wanted to produce a simple promotional leaflet that detailed Casio's innovations in technology and how today's Casio calculators work. I looked at some of my old childhood books and found some particularly useful diagrams in my book 'the X-Ray Picture Book of Everyday Things & How They Work'.

I took apart a Casio calculator and began to generate visuals. I have begun to develop a body of illustrations that form the art direction for this brief. I am currently also exploring the possibility of developing typography from the intricacies I have observed in the circuitry. I have begun some experiments into this, although I am currently unsure of whether it is applicable to this brief, or whether this will split into another brief.
