Tutorial

Todays tutorial with Fred and Lorenzo was useful and informative. Whilst I was given positive feedback for my final design/finishing skills and oral presentation skills (the latter came by surprise!), it clarified a lot of the problems I have which I had already identified, but it was useful to know that these are the faults that are losing me those vital marks!

-More attention to presenting the development side of things is needed
-Define an end point for projects

The second fault is not a problem in briefs that are set externally (live briefs, course briefs etc) but for briefs I write myself it can be difficult to define what the final resolution must be. This should not be a problem at all in industry, however while in education it is necessary to prove that I have developed this skill to pick up marks.

As for the work I am doing myself, the topic I have chosen ('How things work') is a strong one for me, and suits what I want to do well (technical illustration). The point made is that I need to define what these 'things' are. For example, is the thing a mechanical/electrical device or is it a system? A code of conduct? Basically, the 'thing' I am explaining how it works does not just have to be objects, it can be how a group of people operate, so all kinds of avenues can be explored. I need to think about this. More soon.
